Nice to know: The integrated search with regular expressions

Regular expressions facilitate the search in PCB-Investigator

Under time pressure, it is important that the components you need for your work are quick and easy to find. PCB-Investigator therefore offers a solution - the integrated search with regular expressions.
A regular expression is a text pattern which describes one or more search text or code variations.

With a guide to your target

To open the search, click on "Selection -> Search" or press CTRL + F

With the use of regular expressions, it is easy to find a group of elements (for example all IC[0-9]* or all R1[0-9] *) to filter out or geometries. For example, the expression “[A-Z,a-z]0603”: Finds all types of components with the specific component package “0603”.

Other examples of regular expressions are available with a click at the question mark icon in the lower right corner of the dialog. To increase the speed of the search, you can specify whether the text should be searched everywhere (“all”) or for example only in the network or component data.

On the tab with your results, simply choose any of the found objects‏. To clear the results in the list, please select "Delete results" in the context menu of the list.
