The IDX format is an XML-based message system for synchronizing design changes between mechanical (MCAD) and electrical (ECAD) development tools – specifically for the requirements of modern PCB development. Based on the open ProSTEP EDMD standard, it enables the reliable exchange of incremental changes between the two disciplines – fast, version-safe and transparent.
With the PCBI IDX export, not only design information but also all relevant production frames can be transferred to the IDX format. This enables close integration of mechanical and electrical development – with full traceability of all changes.
