Without professional support, this process would often be unnecessarily time-consuming and error-prone.

To meet these challenges, the Database Compare function was developed in certain editions of PCB-Investigator. It enables data-based changes to be identified efficiently and displayed clearly.

The Database Compare function recognizes differences between two PCB data sets and presents them both as a compact overview and as a detailed list. Changes in component and/or network data and especially in the test access area can be specifically analyzed. This flexibility allows users to check exactly the information that is relevant for the respective design review.

The detailed list of changes contains key information such as reference designation, position number, coordinates, values and component attributes. For network comparisons, network names and the percentage agreement between two networks are displayed. This precise preparation supports the targeted evaluation and prioritization of changes.

Another highlight of the function is the option to filter the results. Data can be sorted according to attributes, names or other criteria in order to increase clarity and focus on relevant changes.

The color coding of matches and deviations also provides intuitive visual support. This makes it possible to see at a glance which areas of the design are affected – an enormous relief in day-to-day work and especially for extensive design reviews.

Overall, the Database Compare function is a powerful solution for change tracking in the PCB development process. It promotes transparent communication between teams, facilitates coordination in the design review process and makes a significant contribution to the quality and traceability of complex PCB projects.

Download PCB-Investigator with all plug-ins for free testing >>

Downloads/Links

» PCBI Manual | Database Comparison

BASIC ULTIMATE FABRICATION PRODUCTION CONTROL DEVELOPER PHYSICS ✓ ✓ ✓ Revolutionizing PCB Design: Introducing the Database Compare Plugin!
