Make power and ground connections in your PCB design instantly visible – with the Power Pin Wizard!

For complex circuit boards, it is often essential to quickly identify the most important power and ground connections. The PCBI Power Pin Wizard helps you highlight power and ground pins directly in the layout – clearly, quickly and without changing the design data.

With the Power Pin Wizard, you can see at a glance which pins belong to ground or supply potentials. This makes it easy to visually check important nets such as GND, VCC, 3V3, 5V, 12V, VBAT or VCORE and highlight them for analyses, reviews or documentation.

The plugin automatically detects typical power and ground nets based on their names and presents them in clear, structured lists. You can also easily add further nets from your current selection and individually mark them as Ground or Power.

The major benefit: the color highlighting is applied directly to the pins of all components in the active step. This allows developers, layout engineers and reviewers to immediately see whether important supply points are available, whether ground connections are plausibly distributed, and whether central power rails reach the expected components.

The Power Pin Wizard is especially useful when you want to quickly understand a design, check critical supply areas or prepare a clear visual representation for reviews, screenshots and technical discussions. Instead of clicking through individual nets and pin lists, you get an instantly understandable visual orientation in the PCB layout.

The colors for ground and power pins can be customized individually. This allows you to easily apply your preferred visualization standards – for example blue for ground and red for supply. The selected nets are saved per job and are available again the next time the job is opened.

Since the Power Pin Wizard only adjusts the visualization in the viewer, your electrical data remains unchanged. This gives you a safe and convenient tool to better understand power supply structures, check them faster and communicate them more clearly.
