Powerful .fab and .cad file analysis with the Fabmaster
The Fabmaster add-on for PCB-Investigator provides you with a powerful solution for processing and analyzing .fab files and .cad files – the native format of Cadence Allegro Fabmaster and FABmaster. Despite having the same name, the file formats differ in structure and content. This add-on enables you to reliably import both variants.
Supported Formats and Content
Cadence Fabmaster (.CAD)
Contains comprehensive information about components, packages, and layout (including netlist). Silkscreen layers with text and documentation layers with additional information are also included. Drill data and basic properties are transferred as well.
FABmaster (.fab)
Includes components, padstacks, test points, and net information. The data structure is similar to the ODB++ format and represents all relevant layers in a straightforward manner.
