SOD (Software on Demand / Online-License)

This option facilitates the provision and management of licenses via the Internet. Users can access licenses flexibly and regardless of location.

  • The product offers high flexibility in terms of location, with users having the option to access a licence worldwide.
  • Central license management (groups, pools, etc.) is a possibility.
  • There is no requirement for a physical connection to the hardware.
  • This system is highly scalable, with the capacity to accommodate a high number of users working in parallel.
  • A comprehensive set of statistics and a detailed log system are available for your perusal.
  • In order to retrieve and validate a licence, a stable internet connection is required.
  • In the event of a weak or unstable connection, it is possible that usage will be restricted.

Floating (Licenseserver intern)

This variant runs via a license server that is operated within the company network. Licenses are checked out from a designated pool, provided that the server is accessible.

  • The company’s internal computer and server structures are the only components integrated, independent of the public Internet.
  • Optimal resource utilisation: not every user requires their own licence; licences are shared.
  • The system offers flexibility when switching between users without the need for hardware replacement, and log file analysis is simplified.
  • It is imperative that the license server is permanently accessible to ensure smooth operation.

Dongle (hardware-based license)

A physical USB dongle is utilised in this instance, which must be connected to the machine to activate the license. The license is directly linked to the dongle.

  • The product’s high security is due to its hardware binding.
  • The system functions independently of network or server infrastructure.
  • This product is ideal for use by a single user or in secure environments.
  • It is imperative that the dongle is connected to the device being used. Flexible relocation is not an option.
  • In the event of loss or damage to the dongle, access to the software will be temporarily unavailable.
  • Please note that upgrades to the dongle require a valid support contract and the dongle ID.
