See power and ground connections instantly
In complex PCB layouts, quickly identifying the most important supply and ground connections can save a surprising amount of time. The Power Pin Wizard in PCB-Investigator highlights power and GND pins directly in the layout, clearly, quickly, and without modifying the design data.
That makes it especially useful for reviews, technical discussions, screenshots, and documentation. Instead of clicking through nets and pin lists one by one, engineers get immediate visual orientation inside the PCB viewer.
Built for fast recognition of critical nets
The Power Pin Wizard automatically detects typical power and ground nets based on their names. Common examples include:
- GND
- VCC
- 3V3
- 5V
- 12V
- VBAT
- VCORE
You can also add nets from your current selection and mark them individually as Ground or Power. Colors are fully customizable, so teams can match their preferred visualization standard, for example blue for ground and red for supply.
The highlighting affects only the viewer. Your electrical data remains unchanged.
Better visibility for reviews and communication
The real value lies in the speed of interpretation. You can immediately see whether important supply points are available, whether ground connections are plausibly distributed, and whether central rails reach the expected components. For dense boards, that kind of clarity makes reviews faster and more effective.
Selected nets are saved per job and are available again the next time you open it, which keeps the visualization consistent across sessions. If you need a safer, clearer way to understand power supply structures and communicate them in technical discussions, the Power Pin Wizard is worth a look.
